DDP innebär ett maximalt åtagande av säljaren och namnet antyder så står säljaren för VAT (Moms), tullavgifter samt övriga skatter. Om säljaren inte kan åta sig att inklarera varorna i importlandet bör den här regeln undvikas. DDP tillhör Incoterms grupp 1 och kan alltså användas för alla transportsätt.
